Nathan Friend

Nathan is currently studying Stage Management and Technical Theatre (Theatre Practice BA Hons) at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Previously, Nathan was at the Skinners' Kent Academy Sixth Form, where he studied the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme in IB Maths, IB ITGS, BTEC Applied Psychology and LIBF Finance (CeFS).

He has also studied GCSEs in Maths, English Lit and Lang, Triple Science, French, Drama, Computer Science and LIBF Finance (CeFE), attaining 3 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s.

He is currently a student member of the Equity Union, the UK Stage Management Association, and the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. He was a member of Trinity Youth Theatre, Tunbridge Wells, and the Youth Event Lead on the committee for TEDxRoyalTunbridgeWells.

In his spare time, Nathan has stage-managed youth theatre productions, completed numerous video editing projects, including running his own YouTube channel, and successfully ran sports events and tournaments. He has also developed an Excel spreadsheet for running dual league galas, and runs the odd random project, which doesn't fit into anything else he does.

Current Projects

Assembly Festival 2022 - Edinburgh Fringe

I'm working as a Venue Technician for Assembly Festival in 2022, running a small studio venue with one other technician, and operating nearly 80 performances over three and a half weeks. The shows range from naturalistic dramas to interactive audience participation comedy.
